父亲节 Festa del Papà / Father's Day



La Festa del Papà è la festa del Ringraziamento del Padre. / The Father's Feast is the Father's Thanksgiving Feast.

La celebrazione del Giorno del Padre è nata negli Stati Uniti nel 1910, dopo la morte di Bruce Dodd, avvenuta nel 1909. Mrs Dodd è ritenuta la fondatrice di questa festa, da commemorare nella terza domenica di giugno. Il  19 giugno 1910 a Washington Spokane, Mrs Dodd,  ha tenuto la prima celebrazione del “Giorno del Padre”.
The Father's Day celebration was born in the United States in 1910 after the death of Bruce Dodd in 1909. Mrs. Dodd is considered to be the founder of this feast, to be commemorated on the third Sunday of June. On 19 June 1910 in Washington, Spokane (Mrs Dodd) held the first celebration of the "Father's Day".


八八父亲节 "88 Day"

Anche in Cina lo si festeggia abitualmente la terza domenica di giugno, mentre a Taiwan è prevista per l’8 agosto di ogni anno. La festa è  nota anche come "88 Day". Questo perché il suono del numero "88" e il suono del nome “papà“ sono simili. Il numero 8 è anche simbolo di fortuna, per i cinesi il numero raddoppiato significa fortuna estrema. Per questa ragione le Olimpiadi di Pechino s’erano tenute l’8 agosto del 2008.” 
Also in China it is usually celebrated on the third Sunday in June, while in Taiwan it is scheduled for August 8 each year. The fest is also known as "88 Day". This is because the sound of the number "88" and the sound of the name "dad" are similar. Number 8 is also a symbol of luck for the Chinese, the number doubled means extreme fortune. For this reason, the Beijing Olympics had been held on August 8, 2008. "



L'origine della festa del papà in Cina risale alla proclamazione della Repubblica. La festa cinese del papà è nata a Shanghai l'8 agosto 1945. In questo periodo Shanghai era ancora sotto il controllo giapponese, tuttavia  il governo municipale di Shanghai ha inoltrato richiesta al governo centrale per l’autorizzazione a festeggiare l'8 agosto come il giorno del padre nazionale. La richiesta ha ottenuto l'approvazione e l'8 agosto è diventata la "Festa del Papà" a livello legale, di carattere nazionale. 
The birth of the Dad's Feast in China dates back to the proclamation of the Republic of China. The Chinese Dad's Day was born in Shanghai on August 8, 1945. This was the period when Shanghai was still under Japanese control, but the Shanghai Municipal Government has applied to the central government for permission to celebrate August 8 as the day of the national father. The request has been approved and August the 8th became the "Dad's Day" at a national level.


Yan Huiqing


Il giorno 7 agosto 1946 Yan Huiqing “l’iniziatore della Festa del Papà” è stato invitato a "YMCA" fare un discorso sul tema "Festa del papà" . Egli ha parlato delle responsabilità del padre nella società.  Il giorno dopo scrisse nel suo diario: "I giornali erano pieni di articoli sulla 'Festa del Papà." 
On August 7, 1946, Yan Huiqing, "Founder of Dad's Day", was invited to "YMCA" to make a speech on the theme of "Dad's Day". He talked about the father's responsibilities in society. The next day he wrote in his diary: "The newspapers were full of articles on the" Dad's Day. "






La Festa del Papà è celebrata in date diverse a seconda delle Nazioni. In Italia, assieme al Belgio, Portogallo e Spagna la si celebra in concomitanza con la festa di San Giuseppe (Padre di Gesù).

The Dad's Day is celebrated on different dates according to the Nations. In Italy, together with Belgium, Portugal and Spain, it is celebrated in conjunction with the feast of St. Joseph (Father of Jesus).





In Cina  le persone celebrano la festa del papà in tanti modi. Usano modi diversi per  esprimere l'amore e la gratitudine per il loro padre e vice versa. 
People in China celebrate Dad's Day in so many ways. They use different ways to express love and gratitude for their father and vice versa.




Girano in rete cartoni animati raffiguranti il caldo amore paterno. Una storia descrive un padre non ricco che “pedala furiosamente” avendo solo la bicicletta per accompagnare suo figlio.
There are many cartoons depicting the warm paternal love on the net. A story describes a non rich  father who "pedals furiously" having only the bicycle to accompany his son.




Altri mostrano l’amore filiale cercando di indovinare il piatto o la bevanda preferita del padre.
Others show filial love trying to guess the father's favorite dish or drink.

Qiong Yao

Non mancano nella letteratura le testimonianze. Le più citate sono le poesie dello scrittore Liang Fengyi di  Hong Kong e della famosa scrittrice taiwanese Qiong Yao. There are several evidences in the literature. The most talked about are the poems of Liang Fengyi, Hong Kong writer and Taiwanese famous writer Qiong Yao.




石斛兰Dendrobium

Con quali fiori si saluta questa festa in Cina?
Dato che  il fiore Dendrobium ha la tempra forte e un temperamento pacifico e amabile, in molti paesi  è considerano "il fiore della festa del papà." Regalare Dendrobium serve a ricordare la perseveranza e il coraggio del padre. Nel linguaggio dei fiori Dendrobium significa benvenuto, la benedizione, la purezza, la fortuna e la felicità. Il Dendrobium giallo regalato durante la Festa del Papà o il giorno del compleanno del padre simboleggia la sua forza d'animo, il suo carattere gentile e dignitosa ed esprime massimo rispetto per il padre.
With what flowers do Chinese celebrate this festival?
Since Dendrobium flower has a strong temper and a temperate and lovable temperament, in many countries it is considered "the flower of Dad's Feast." 黄色康乃馨 Garofano giallo / Yellow carnation


Si  regala anche il garofano giallo (黄色康乃馨) che simboleggia gentilezza, calore, sincerità e l’amore che non tramonterà mai. They also gives presents as yellow carnation (黄色 康乃馨) symbolizing kindness, warmth, sincerity and never ending love.
